Day 3 of the 2025 EMF Champions League and by tonight we will know our final four.
We start the day off with the round of 16, and we’ve got some amazing match ups lined up.
We have the ‘Battle of Budapest’, where Szilard és Barátai take on The Private Rooftop, the two teams from the Hungarian capital will be vying for a place in the last 8, where they will play the winner of the match between Romanian giants, Nova Vita, and the Spanish superstars from Malaga, Ortega Twins, in what promises to be a spectacular game.
Hoverla Zak from Prague have been impressive so far, and they’ll need to continue their fine form when they take on the Ukrainian side, FC Lowcy, who have also looked good in qualifying.
The winner of that tie will play the winner of the next match up, the surprise package of this year’s Champions League so far, Cemil Baba Baklavari from Türkiye, who dominated their group, and their opponents Red Star Belgrade, who also looked good until a heavy defeat in their final group game, maybe that has taken the wind out of their sails?!
Zire, one of three teams from the Azerbaijani capital who are into the last 16, will have their work cut out against former European champions, MFK Hram from Podgorica, who after winning their first two matches, could only manage runner up spot in their group after losing their final match, this looks a tight game on paper.
Home favourites, Laits, the only team to win all three games so far, face off against Slovakian side, MFC Lavore, to see who will play Zire or MFK in the quarter finals later tonight.
BKMK went far in the competition last year, and they’ll will need to be at their very best to get the better of Aznur in their tie. The prize for the winners will be a last 8 match against either the reigning champions, Birbasha, or can Greek side, Flamingos FC, spring a huge surprise and knock the champions off their perch.
