MASCOT invites supporters to take part in greener sport actions
MASCOT uses simple public engagement actions to help supporters connect the passion of minifootball with sustainability
Supporters are an essential part of the EMF Champions League atmosphere, and MASCOT recognises that fan engagement can also support sustainability. The project uses simple public-facing messages and activities to help supporters understand how individual choices can contribute to more responsible sport.
Public engagement actions can include short challenges, sustainability quizzes, awareness messages, mascot-related activities, promotion of greener choices and digital storytelling. The aim is not only to inform people, but to invite them to take part in the sustainability story of minifootball.
This approach reflects one of the core messages of MASCOT: behavioural change becomes easier when sustainability is visible, social and connected to positive experiences. In a competition environment, sustainability communication can reach people at the moment when they are already emotionally connected to the sport.
EMF will continue to use MASCOT communication materials to encourage supporters, clubs and local partners to consider practical steps that can make sport events more sustainable.
