MASCOT AR experience connects digital engagement with climate awareness

MASCOT is developing an augmented reality experience to make climate and environmental topics more interactive for sport audiences. The AR experience is intended to complement the project’s toolkit and public engagement activities by presenting sustainability in a digital format that is easy to access and share.

For competition audiences, digital engagement can be especially effective because it connects sustainability messages with event excitement, mobile communication and social-media storytelling. The AR experience helps users explore environmental themes through a more visual and participatory format.

The experience is part of the wider MASCOT communication approach, which combines practical tools, training, workshops, online content and public visibility. Together, these activities help the project reach athletes, managers, supporters and wider sport organisations.

Once the public demo is available, EMF can link the AR experience from event websites, social-media posts and MASCOT-related news items.
